FamilySearch Worldwide Indexing Event

FamilySearch Indexing Event

How beautiful are my grandparents on their wedding day?? This is one of my favorite photos of my father’s parents. It’s even hanging on our fridge.  I love being able to be reminded of them and where I came from so often. I love hearing stories about their lives; where they came from, what they liked doing, and funny stories.  Something funny about this photo is that my sweet grandmother was so petite, that the photographer had her stand on a box for this photo!

Family history is so intriguing to me. It is crazy to think about how all of our ancestors had lives, friends, people they loved. They worked and traveled and married and had families.  Sometimes I think it is really common to forget about all those that came before us, which is sad! I think there is something special in knowing who your ancestors were and more about their lives. Seeing them as actual people and not just a name in a book somewhere!

Here is a little video explaining exactly what “Indexing” is, and how it helps with family history. Have you ever been curious about where you came from?

I invite you to participate in this indexing event! And if that doesn’t work for you, try and find out more about your family history! You can start making your family tree over at FamilySearch as well.
